Christ the Chief Cornerstone

Christ the Chief Cornerstone

Quoted in: Matthew 21:42; Mark 12:10; Luke 20:17; Acts 4:11 and 1 Peter 2:7

The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. This is the LORD’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes. This is the day that the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Save us, we pray, O LORD! O LORD, we pray, give us success!

Blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD! We bless you from the house of the LORD. The LORD is God, and he has made his light to shine upon us. Bind the festal sacrifice with cords, up to the horns of the altar!

You are my God, and I will give thanks to you; you are my God; I will extol you. Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever! Psalm 118:22-29 ESV

Verses 22-26 speak of Christ as the Chief Cornerstone who was rejected by many but honoured by God and His people.

We must remember that God has given us each day we have (verse 24). Even our most difficult days we need to commit to Him and acknowledge Him as our God. How wonderful it is to belong to him! Let us praise and exalt him (verse 28).

Reflect

What has God revealed to you?
