Faith for Our Future

Faith for Our Future

Call to Prayer & Funding Campaign

What is God’s vision for our future at IBF?

Can we renew our passion for God’s vision?

How can we join God’s vision through giving?

IBF is at a crossroad.  We have to make a choice.  Do we continue our current trend of short-term pastorates interrupted by years of saving up to call a pastor?  Or do we do whatever it takes break that cycle and commit to funding our budget so that we can afford to keep a pastor long-term?

Our opinions don’t matter.  What matters is God’s vision for our future at IBF!

The elders – in conversation with other church leaders – believe that God’s vision for IBF is reaching the English-speaking international community of the Rheintal with the gospel of Jesus Christ, a vision that is best accomplished with the guidance and leadership of a long-term pastor.  Is that truly God’s vision?

As noted at our recent AGM, the immigration authorities have notified IBF that we will not be granted a permit for our pastor if we do not fund our expenses.  As of the end of April, IBF is already behind our giving goal and falling further behind.  If we do nothing, IBF will be without a pastor next year.  Is that truly God’s vision?

The elders in cooperation with the officers are launching a two-pronged “Faith for Our Future” project with a Call to Prayer and a Funding Campaign.  The purpose is to seek and discern God’s vision for our life together as a church and to see if IBF has the heart and passion to pursue that vision.
