The Word Became Flesh

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. John 1:1-5 ESV

Question: If all you had in hand was John 1:1-5, what would you learn about the character and nature of Jesus?
Answer: I would be definitely guessing. No one can really expect to know or understand God unless….He revels Himself to them!

The Holy Bible was divinely begotten however the Holy men that wrote it got their information by knowing Lord Jesus personally. There were a lot of persecutions of Christians till the beginning of the 3rd century when Constantine saved them by the declaration that it was the legal right for all citizens to worship any God they wanted to. All of the members of the Christian Church and especially all of His Bishops knew who Lord Jesus was however it was a personal understanding for each and every one. In view of a lot of heresies showing up especially Arianism that tried to explain the Triad God with logic instead of Revelation! Arios was teaching that the Son is a creation of God meaning he did not recognize Him as God! If these type ideas became accepted by the faithful they would eventually condemned to harm the Church t because the Churches foundation is based upon the fact that Jesus Christ is the redeemer of mankind only if He is God! So the Church decided to have their 1st Church Ecumenical Synod in 325 AC not in order to find the Truth, but in order to find a way to word it! The first Ecumenical Synod condemned the false teaching of Arianism and worded the first 7 articles of the Symbol of Faith.

Religious Truth is known as Dogma. What is Dogma?

Dogma is the foundation of Christian doctrine, that is, a religious truth issuing from divine revelation and indisputably defined by the Church, is God’s revelation to humanity. The fullness of His self-revelation is Jesus Christ. He reveals through words and actions as Rabbi (Teacher or Master) the mysteries of the Kingdom of God as much as we are able to comprehend.

THE SYMBOL OF FAITH (of the Orthodox)
(I st Ecumenical Synod of the Church 325 A.D in Nikea)
I BELIEVE IN ONE GOD, FATHER,ALMIGHTY, MAKER OF HEAVEN AND EARTH AND OF ALL THINGS VISIBLE AND INVISIBLE. AND IN ONE LORD JESUS CHRIST, THE ONLY-BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD, BEGOTTEN OF THE FATHER BEFORE ALL
AGES, LIGHT, OF LIGHT, TRUE GOD OF TRUE GOD, BEGOTTEN NOT MADE, ONE IN ESSENCE WITH THE FATHER, THROUGH WHOM ALL THINGS WERE MADE.
WHO FOR US MEN AND FOR OUR SALVATION CAME DOWN FROM HEAVEN, AND WAS INCARNATED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT AND OF THE VIRGIN MARY, AND BECAME MAN.
AND WAS CRUCIFIED FOR US UNDER PONTIUS PILATE, SUFFERED AND WAS BURIED.
AND ROSE ON THE THIRD DAY ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES. AND ASCENDED INTO HEAVEN, AND SIT TETH AT THE RIGHT HAND OF THE FATHER. AND HE SHALL COME AGAIN WITH GLORY TO JUDGE THE LIVING AND THE DEAD; WHOSE KINGDOM SHALL HAVE NO END.
AND IN THE HOLY SPIRIT, THE LORD, THE GIVER OF LIFE, WHO PROCEEDETH FROM THE FATHER, WHO WITH THE FATHER AND THE SON TOGETHER IS WORSHIPPED AND GLORIFIED; WHO SPOKE BY THE PROPHETS.
IN ONE HOLY, CATHOLIC AND APOSTOLIC CHURCH. (Ephesians 4, 5)
I ACKNOWLEDGE ONE BAPTISM FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS.
I LOOK FOR THE RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD.
AND THE LIFE OF THE AGE TO COME.

    AMEN.

The Church was created by the Apostles 200o years ago for a single reason only, the return of man back to the presence of his Creator God. The reading of the Holy Bible does not SAVE because it does not redeem man from sin. The Church that wrote it does because Lord Jesus is present with His Holy Sacraments as High priest [Hebrews 5:5] and Mediator to His Father for the Salvation/Theosis of each and every one individually.
The TRUTH begotten as the supreme personal truth is a PERSON (GOD), and as a PERSON they who truly love Him they shall know Him. Most of the Apostles became Bishops after He had ascended to His Father http://orthodoxwiki.org/Seventy_Apostles
Mount Sinai and the cave John wrote Apocalypses there are Orthodox monasteries that hold divine Liturgy 2 times a day!
