Elders

Elders

Eligibility for an Elder is described in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9 and they are recognized as spiritual leaders by the congregation. Elders have the responsibility and the authority in issues of church governance, doctrine, and discipline. Elders have oversight responsibility of the church members, officers and deacons according to Ephesians 4:11-13 to equip the saints for the work of ministry. Elders may be removed from their position following the biblical principles found in 1 Timothy 5:19-22.
