Get Connected

“Now you are no longer strangers to God and foreigners to heaven, but you are members of God’s very own family, citizens of God’s country, and you belong in God’s household with every other Christian.”Ephesians 2:19 (LB)

God created you to be a part of his family! You belong in God’s household!

The themes of Paul’s thoughts in the verse above are especially applicable to a transient, international community of believers like IBF. God has made us his own—his daughters and sons—and put us together in the church family of IBF.

But what does it mean to belong to God’s household at IBF? In this new four-part sermon series, I will preach on the four different aspects of what it means to be a part of our church family based on our Mission Statement—“We invite people to know, follow, and share Jesus.”

The goal of this series is to introduce you to what will become a new four-part “Get Connected” class that will invite you to become a partner in our mission at IBF. Whether you are a long-timer or a short-timer, God has a purpose for your life while you are here.

Will you make a personal commitment to being an IBF partner to see God’s purpose fulfilled in your life, in IBF, and through IBF? That is my prayer.

Share Jesus: Tell Your Story

This week we’ll dive a bit deeper into the mission of Jesus, a task we’ve summarized as SHARE JESUS that has two primary expressions. The first is in the church; the second, in the world. What is your mission in God’s world? Tell your story!

Share Jesus: Serve the Body

This week we’ll dive a bit deeper into the mission of Jesus, a task we’ve summarized as SHARE JESUS that has two primary expressions. The first is in the church; the second, in the world. Both are influence by the answer to this question:What’s your SHAPE?

Share Jesus, serve the body, tell your story

Following Jesus, being formed by him, and taking on his mission is accomplished through our partnership with the Holy Spirit by making ourselves available through “holy habits” or spiritual disciplines.

Follow Jesus

This Sunday’s focus is on the foundational principle of “follow Jesus.” Join us as we consider four essential spiritual practices that characterize the life of the disciple that follows Jesus.
